Japanese operator, NYK has taken delivery of the 311,979dwt VLCC Tateshina built at Nantong COSCO KHI Engineering (NACKS) in China and the first ship to receive ClassNK’s CybR-G notation for cyber secured ship design.
By improving the shape of the 339.5m long ship’s bow, the wave-making resistance caused by the bow wave during navigation has been greatly reduced, and the propulsion performance has been improved. This ship is also equipped with energy-saving measures such as low-friction paint applied to the hull, high-efficiency large-diameter propellers, and ladder fins that regulate the water flow at the stern and reduce energy loss.
