NYK takes delivery of new cyber resilient VLCC

Japanese operator, NYK has taken delivery of the 311,979dwt VLCC Tateshina built at Nantong COSCO KHI Engineering (NACKS) in China and the first ship to receive ClassNK’s CybR-G notation for cyber secured ship design.

Japanese operator, NYK has taken delivery of the 311,979dwt VLCC Tateshina built at Nantong COSCO KHI Engineering (NACKS) in China and the first ship to receive ClassNK’s CybR-G notation for cyber secured ship design.

By improving the shape of the 339.5m long ship’s bow, the wave-making resistance caused by the bow wave during navigation has been greatly reduced, and the propulsion performance has been improved. This ship is also equipped with energy-saving measures such as low-friction paint applied to the hull, high-efficiency large-diameter propellers, and ladder fins that regulate the water flow at the stern and reduce energy loss.
