Ferry VILLA SAN GIOVANNI suffered fire on board, understood in engine room, on Nov 22 in Messina Strait, while crossing the Strait on her scheduled trip between VILLA SAN GIOVANNI mainland Italy, and Messina, Sicily. Crew reportedly, managed to extinguished fire, disabled ferry was towed to Villa San Giovanny. Passengers were evacuated, no injures reported.
